For our creations, we use recycled precious metals bearing the OEKOGOLD mark as standard. For those who wish to choose newly mined gold from certified artisanal mining organizations, we also create Fairmined and Fairtrade gold jewelry upon request.
The OEKOGOLD mark identifies jewelers who choose to work with precious metals from recycled and controlled sources.
This choice allows us to combine artisanal craftsmanship with a more conscious and controlled supply chain.
OEKOGOLD
sophisticated recycling processes
OEKOGOLD gold, silver, platinum, and palladium are sourced from the recovery and refining of existing precious metals. Through sophisticated recycling processes, carried out by a specialized Swiss company, these materials are restored to their original state, completely eliminating all impurities and creating a metal with the exact same physical, chemical, and aesthetic characteristics as metal freshly extracted from a mine.
Our workshop also actively participates in this virtuous process. We periodically send all precious material destined for recovery to the refinery: old gold purchased from our customers, as well as the scraps and powders generated during processing in our goldsmith's workshop. Nothing is wasted: every gram of precious metal is recovered and reintroduced into the production cycle.
From the same refinery, we then purchase newly refined OEKOGOLD precious metals, prepared in the forms, alloys, and colors necessary for our creations.
This circular process allows for the recovery and enhancement of existing precious metals, limiting the need for newly extracted material.

From a qualitative standpoint, there is no difference: recycled metal possesses the same purity, strength, workability, and intrinsic value as newly mined metal. What changes is its impact on the environment and people.
The ordinary extraction of precious metals involves significant consumption of natural resources, high energy expenditure, and, in many cases, the use of particularly aggressive chemical substances, such as cyanide and mercury, which can cause serious consequences for ecosystems and the health of the communities involved.
Choosing recycled precious metals means enhancing existing resources and limiting the need for new extracted material, by integrating gold, silver, platinum, and palladium into a process of recovery and reuse.
