Gigi Leanza Creazioni Orafe was founded in 1984, born from the passion, determination, and love for the art of goldsmithing of my parents, Carmine Leanza, known to everyone as Gigi, and Barbara. Through their dedication, they created a workshop and a jewelry store destined to become a landmark in the heart of Bellinzona.
For over forty years, our Atelier has been deeply connected to the city and its surrounding area, building a relationship of trust day by day with clients who continue to choose us to celebrate the most important moments of their lives. This bond renews itself over time and naturally passes from one generation to the next: alongside our long-standing clients, new generations find in our Atelier a place where artisanal tradition, contemporary sensibility, and personal attention meet to create authentic jewelry capable of telling their story.

My journey
My name is Fabio Leanza, and my passion for goldsmithing has accompanied my journey since a young age. My father was my first teacher: by his side, I began to learn this trade, and over time, he passed on all his knowledge, the techniques acquired through years of experience, and that artisanal sensibility that cannot be found in books but is gained by observing, listening, and working together.
Between 1994 and 1998, I completed my goldsmith apprenticeship, earning the Federal Certificate of Competence. In the following years, I had the opportunity to work for important Swiss goldsmith companies, both in Ticino and in central Switzerland. Each experience was a valuable opportunity for me to encounter different realities, methods, and professionalism, learning from people capable of offering me new insights and perspectives on the trade through their experience. This journey allowed me to refine my crafting techniques, deepen my knowledge of materials and precious stones, and build, step by step, a personal way of experiencing and interpreting goldsmithing.
In 2007, I felt the desire to challenge myself in a completely different context and to get to know a professional reality up close, one filled with action and unpredictable situations, which had always held a particular fascination for me. Thus, I embarked on a new professional experience by joining the Ticino Cantonal Police, where for sixteen years I performed an intense service rich in human and professional experiences: the first ten years first in the Sottoceneri Mobile Unit and, following regionalization, in the Luganese II Unit; the last six years, still in Lugano, at the Criminal Police, in the Section for Crimes Against Personal Integrity (SRIP), serving as a cantonal police inspector.
A bond that was never broken
A continuing story
During those years, my mother Barbara continued to manage the family business with extraordinary dedication, while also overseeing the jewelry store in Ascona. Although my professional path had partially taken me away from the jeweler's bench, my connection to the workshop always remained strong.
My father's passing in 2014 was a deeply significant moment for our family. Since then, I have dedicated every free moment to the goldsmithing business, supporting it with discretion and constancy, so that the workshop could continue to grow and preserve the tradition my father had passionately built.
Over time, I felt an increasingly strong desire to fully return to goldsmithing, to give space to my creativity, and to express through my work the artistic side that has always accompanied me. I missed the jeweler's bench, working with precious metals, and the allure of stones, each with its own characteristics, nuances, and expressive possibilities. I felt the need to return to imagining and creating new pieces, transforming ideas and materials into jewelry capable of telling a unique story.
Thus, in 2023, I definitively returned to my roots, officially taking over the business and personally assuming its leadership. It was a heartfelt decision and, at the same time, an important and exciting challenge: the opportunity to build my own path, fully express my vision of goldsmithing, and continue a story that began over forty years ago. Today, I carry on the Atelier, preserving the values and teachings my parents passed on to me, but also with the desire to evolve it through new ideas, enthusiasm, and a constant eye on the future and innovation.
